Rene Saldana is an author of Latino young adult literature.  His books have opened the doors to the culture and way of life as experienced by Latino adolescents in South Texas and Georgia.  His stories include different issues that affect teenagers today such as love, danger, loyalty, pride, tragedy, family, and self-discovery (At http://www.txla.org).   He has published two excellent books, The Jumping Tree: A Novel and Finding Our Way: Stories along with poems, reviews, and articles in literary journals.
